How to control mites in chicken using an acaricide

How to control mites in chicken using an acaricide

Steps:

  1. Mix the acaricide with water in a bucket ( follow manufacturer's advice on the mixing ratios)
  2. Dip chicken one by one in the medicated water; do not dip the head
  3. Let each dipped chicken out of the coop into the open air.
  4. Remove feeders and drinkers from the poultry house.
  5. Spray the poultry house with the acaricide.

To note:

  1. Use the right acaricide illustrated for chicken, use of organophosphates for dipping chicken is fatal
  2. Dip the chicken early in the morning, on a sunny day and let them out to dry.
  3. For stubborn mites repeat this every 4 days for two weeks.
